What is WFQA and EPA certification?
WFQA (Wood Fuel Quality Assurance) certification is a quality guarantee for fuel wood products such as firewood, pellets, briquettes and wood chips. This certification scheme is managed by the Irish Bioenergy Association (IrBEA) and was created to ensure that wood fuels are produced, processed and stored in a way that delivers the best performance and efficiency for consumers.
EPA certification is the process by which products, such as solid fuels, are assessed and approved by Ireland’s Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) to ensure that they meet specific environmental regulations. EPA certification ensures that products, such as firewood, meet standards set to minimize air pollution and protect public health.

Certificate of conformity
The certificate issued by WFQA and EPA confirms that the supplier has undergone a rigorous assessment and meets quality and sustainability standards. This certificate is renewed annually and can be revoked if the supplier does not maintain the required standards
